Atlas Tree Care was established in 2004 by Jez Cock. His training career started with studying National Diploma in Forestry at Newton Rigg College in the Lake District in 1994.
After he successfully achieved his diploma, Jez moved to Wiltshire and began working for a local landscaping company. Under a good mentor, he mastered the climbing techniques required.
The year 2000, saw the beginning of Jez’ globe-trotting; travelling the world working for various tree surgery companies. He spent a year in New Zealand, honing his techniques in the Southern Hemisphere while learning about their native trees. The opportunity then arose to work in Australia, where Jez was fortunate to find a job in Sydney, working for the largest tree company in the country, which employed over 300 staff. But the travelling didn’t stop there, in 2003, Jez moved to the other corner of the world, spending a year working in the USA.
After tree climbing all over the globe, Jez decided that there was no place like home, so in 2004 he returned to England and set up Atlas Tree Care.
With over 22 years of experience in the tree industry, Jez has put his experience and techniques into practice, and is a qualified Lantra Chainsaw and Climbing Instructor; FISA chainsaw instructor and a City and Guilds NPTC Assessor in both fields.
Atlas Tree Care Limited is a team of experienced and qualified arborists with a wealth of knowledge covering all aspects of arboriculture, private and commercial contracts including large estate liability contracts.
All the staff are fully qualified and the company has 10 million pounds cover for public liability, employer’s liability and professional indemnity insurance when carrying out tree surveys and reports.
